Hansen

I haven’t posted in a while, but you know how it is when the semester comes to an end – you have time for nothing! However, now, when almost all exams are behind me, I decided to take a morning off and explore a new place in town – Hansen. It is new to me, although it has been in business for a while now (and apparently is a favored place for the white-collar guys from the stock exchange. Let me take you on a journey to the rainforest of Vienna (and no, it’s not Palmenhaus)!

One of my very best friends was there a few weeks ago and she was so taken aback by how interesting this place looks that she insisted on me going. I have to admit that it has been a while since I was really surprised by the interior of a place, but this one is one of a kind. It is situated in the Börse building and behind a flower shop. Crazy, right? Not to mention that you have direct access to the flower shop through the restaurant. It is situated in the Börse building and behind a flower shop. Crazy, right? Not to mention that you have direct access to the flower shop through the restaurant so when you are walking around you can enjoy the look of rows of beautiful flowers and even a faucet spritzing cold water. One of the biggest perks about this place is that it is situated in the cellar so it is really chill and pleasant to sit there when it’s burning hot outside. Plus, it has glass ceilings, so the place is well-light and there is enough natural light coming in.

Hansen serves their breakfast to each and everyone’s wishes. You can enjoy delicious croissants or freshly made porridge till 11 o’clock daily and if you go there on a Saturday, you are in for a treat – they make waffles! Sadly, we were not able to taste those drenched in syrup, delicious, heavenly-made goodies, but I’ll be going there again for sure, just for those. We ended up getting a soft boiled egg, cheese and ham plate, some bread and then a porridge and a müsli with fresh fruits.

I have to admit that we did not get a look at their regular menu, but I have seen that they offer a PDF of their menu on the website with detailed description and pricing. I can only recommend this amazing place, off the beaten track, with beautiful, serene atmosphere and delicious food.
