It is already March and the semester break is over. However, in between traveling, having guests and writing my BA thesis, my blog had to stay silent for a while. After I am officially tired of doing research and quoting linguists 24/7, I am back with a story about my trip to Upper Austria and Hallstatt.

Orient Express

This iconic train has been coming to my hometown for years and years and now I finally got to see it! Of course, I have read Agatha Christie’s one of a kind “Murder on the Orient Express” as well as many other of Poaro’s adventures, but till now I never had the chance to go and see it. It was a huge thrill, especially because people here are always happy to welcome the train, wave at the travellers and take some pictures till it takes off.

Gourmet/ Feinkost in Vienna: Part 2 Julius Meinl


Who hasn’t heard of Julius Meinl, the great coffee brand that you can get almost everywhere in Vienna? Their name is a synonym for tradition, quality, and great taste but they offer even more than that. When I first came to Vienna, I was constantly seeing people walking around the city center with bright orange paper bags coming out of their brand store/ café. At first, I thought that tourists were stocking up on endless supplies of delicious Julius Meinl coffee, until the moment I saw old Viennese ladies coming out of the store, walking with small doggies on a leash and carrying bags full of purchases.  Read more
